It was a great day for Robert Toombs Tennis. Both Boys and Girls Teams won the Region Championship. RTCA took all Individual Championships as well as both Doubles. Coach Lord had this to say; “Any time we get to compete is a great time. It was a very competitive day between all matches. It was something we needed to get ready for state next week. We will spend 2 days competing to bring home a possible State Championship to RTCA. All we can do is be ready and compete each time we step on the court in the single elimination tournament next week. I was proud of all of our athletes. Steven had to battle back from the loser bracket early for the championship and played a total of 6 matches in one day. Both of our Girls Doubles teams have come a long way since the start of the season. I’m proud of Addie and Caroline and their Championship. If they will continue to work on it, we will have 2 more years and hopefully more hardware with those 2 together. Ellie has been a consistent player all year. If you watch her play, she is just so quick; it’s hard to get her out of position. Jackson and Nelson are a tough combination. I look forward to them making a run in boys Doubles.”
