RTCA’s lower school Student of the Month for September is fifth grader Layton Youmans. Layton is the son of Gina and Keith Davis. Layton has two brothers and several half siblings. Layton has a dog named Jake, a cat named Bob, and a horse named JR. Layton was selected by faculty because Layton is always kind, polite, and a good classmate to his peers. He has a servant’s heart and is constantly asking if he can help administration with different projects around campus. Layton’s favorite subject is math and his favorite color is light pink. He enjoys playing football and wants to be a nuclear plant worker when he grows up.

RTCA’s Middle School Student of the Month for September is 7th grader Saige White. Saige is the daughter of Lisa and Jared White. She has a younger brother, Jagger, who is in Kindergarten at RTCA. She also has an older sister, Molly, who attends UGA and another older sister who is in the 11th grade at Tattnall County High School. Saige was chosen as Student of the Month because she is always willing to lend a hand in the classroom. She also comes to class everyday eager to learn and to help her classmates. Saige’s favorite subject at RTCA is Social Studies with Coach Fitzgerald. She enjoys playing softball, and basketball for RTCA’s Girls Middle School teams. Saige enjoys hanging out with her friends and family, and her favorite thing to do is play softball. One thing Saige lives by is to love like Jesus because you never know what someone is going through.

Robert Toombs Christian Academy’s September Student of the Month is junior JaShaun Powell. JaShaun is the son of Greg and Jennifer Powell. He has one brother, Justin, who is in the 8th grade at RTCA. JaShaun was selected by faculty because he is a student that brings his competitive spirit into the classroom. He endeavors to fully understand and master whatever science concept they are working on in class. JaShaun is also quick to help explain things to his fellow classmates that may be struggling. Mrs. Kimmons, who previously taught JaShaun in the 8th grade, says, “I am delighted at the transformation from a student who would accept average grades then to one who now exudes in the classroom.” JaShaun’s favorite subject is Physical Science. He enjoys playing sports and weightlifting. JaShaun is a member of the Crusader Varsity basketball, football, and track teams. He also enjoys attending church and spending time with his family and friends. After JaShaun graduates, he plans to attend college to pursue a degree in sports management.
