On accepting his role as Head Football Coach, Coach Lord says, “I’m excited to be on campus and meet the players, which will be the foundation of our program moving forward from today. I’m honored to get to know each player personally to develop a relationship and learn who they are individually to better understand what motivates them every day to own their 3’s.”
Coach Lord received his undergrad from Georgia Southern University and received his Masters in English from Georgia College and State University. He is a 2007 graduate of Brentwood High School, where he lettered in baseball for five years and four years in football.

He has also been the Defensive Coordinator at Brentwood High School from 2012-2014. Coach Lord has had five football and two baseball GISA playoff appearances, as well as was part of the 2013 GISA-AA State Champion in baseball at Brentwood. He was also invited to speak at the XO’s Football Clinic as the defensive speaker in 2018-19 and the guest speaker for USA Football in 2019.
“I’m ready to get in the weight room with the team and see where we stand. This will help us commit to the process needed to continue a winning tradition at Robert Toombs. Our future will draw from the success that has always been part of RTCA’s past 50 years. I’m honored to be the next Head Coach that gets to lead this program in pushing our limits spiritually, physically, academically, and athletically daily. A physical brand of football is what you can expect from this program next year and that will start in the weight room this offseason. I’m eager to earn each player’s trust and begin building something special that impacts the entire community of Toombs County.” states Coach Lord.
Coach Lord and his wife, Brittney, have been married for eight years. They have two boys, Hoke who will be joining us next year in K3, and Haze who is 5 months old. They currently attend the First Baptist Church in Hazlehurst and teach Sunday School for 11th and 12th grade students.
Coach Lord and his wife are looking forward to meeting everyone and becoming part of this community.
