RTCA’s Lower School Student of the Month for December is first grader Kennedy Goggans. Kennedy is the daughter of Lacey and Derrick Goggans. She has an older sister, Aerial, and three dogs, Benji, Rudy, and Charlie. Kennedy was selected by faculty because she is always so kind and helpful to everyone. She works hard on her school work and is a great role model for all of her classmates. Kennedy’s favorite subject is reading and her favorite color is purple. She enjoys twirling her baton and when she grows up, she wants to be an art teacher.

RTCA’s Middle School Student of the Month for December is sixth grader Layton Youmans. Layton is the son of Keith and Gina Davis. He has two siblings, a sister, Tosh Standard, and a brother, Jack Rountree. Layton was selected by faculty as student of the month because he works hard to balance academics, sports, and other extracurricular activities. He takes advantage of all RTCA has to offer. Layton and his family believe in the concept of student-athlete and that Layton’s academics come first. When his grades began to slip, due to entering the middle school arena, Layton and his parents reached out to teachers. They worked as a team to figure out how to best help Layton reach his full potential. He has shown both the traits of maturity and responsibility. Layton is a member of Chess Club, Beta Club, and 4-H Club at RTCA. He participates in shotgun, basketball, and baseball. Layton’s favorite subjects are history and PE. During his free time, Layton enjoys going to the lake, tubing, fishing, and playing video games.

RTCA’s High School Student of the Month for December is Abbie Bishop. Abbie is the daughter of Mark Bishop and Pam Bishop. Abbie was selected by faculty because she is always kind and willing to lend a helping hand in time of need. She brought a Christmas tree to the Front Office because the receptionist mentioned she didn’t have a tree. Abbie went and bought her one and decorated it for her. Abbie participated in basketball cheerleading her junior year and plans on participating this year. She is a member of the National Honor Society and National Beta Club. Abbie was selected to participate in the 2022-2023 People’s Bank You the Advisory Board and the Greater Vidalia Youth Leadership Board. She earned third place in the regional National History Day Competition her junior year. After graduation, Abbie plans on attending college and pursuing a degree as a pre-med major in hopes to become a U.S. Navy Corpsman.
