Robert Toombs Christian Academy hosted its fifty-second Commencement Ceremonies on Monday, May 15th on McLendon Field. Senior Adria Cuevas-Ortes gave the invocation followed by senior Carston Tapley leading the Pledge of Allegiance to the American and Christian flags. Senior Dawson Pinckard welcomed friends and families. The congregation then sang “Five More Minutes” by Scotty McCreery, which was led by Kate Kennedy and Dawson Pinckard. Senior Nicole Acosta spoke about the class history and how each student came to be the Class of 2023. Salutatorian, Andrew Tuck, then gave his speech, followed by the Valedictorian speech from Kate Kennedy. Seniors were then awarded their diplomas by Travis Absher, Head of School at RTCA, and Mark Findley, Board Chairman. Finally came the tradition that all students and parents look forward to, the turning of the tassels and the presentation of flowers to their mothers. The commencement ceremony concluded with the singing of RTCA’s Alma Mater, led by seniors Kate Kennedy, Dawson Pinckard, and Sebastian Holmes. Senior Britton Botelho gave the closing benediction followed by the recessional of graduates.
