Michael Adkins, class of 2016, won the chance to kick a 25 yard field goal during halftime at the 2017 Iron Bowl game. If Michael made the 25 yard field goal, he would win $5,000 towards tuition! He competed against 45 other students in a single elimination field competition at the Auburn football facilities. They began the competition kicking a field goal from the 10 yard line and backed up 5 yards after every kick. It came down to Michael and one other student  to try and kick a 40 yard field goal for the win. The other student missed and Michael made his, allowing Michael to move on and kick for the $5,000 during halftime and he made it! Michael was the kicker for the RTCA Varsity football team, a member of the soccer team, National Honors Society and One Act Play while attending R.T.C.A. Michael is currently perusing a degree in Nursing at Auburn University.
