Heads of School & Board of Directors

Head of School
Travis Absher

Mr. Travis Absher assumed the position of Head of School at Robert Toombs Christian Academy in June 2018.  As Head of School, Mr. Absher oversees the college preparatory schools 48 employees and 350 students in grades K3 through 12.

Mr. Absher graduated from Georgia College and State University where he received his Master’s and Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership.  He also holds his Bachelor’s degree from Georgia Southern University and Associates Degree from East Georgia College and is a 2000 Graduate of Montgomery County High School.

Mr. Absher was recently the Assistant Head of School, Director of Facilities, Director of Curriculum and Special Projects at Tattnall Square Academy. He also has been teaching and coaching at various GISA schools since 2008, which include Bulloch Academy, Randolph Southern School and Frederica Academy.

Mr. Absher and his wife Courtney have twin sons, Cannon and Cason, and are excited to join the R.T.C.A. family.


Director of Athletics and Operations
Hayne Brant

Mr. Hayne Brant serves as the Dirctor of Athletics and Operations. In this role, Mr. Brant oversees athletics, school grounds, facilities and other day to day operations.

Hayne Brant is a native of Rincon, Georgia and a 1997 graduate of South Effingham High School. He attended Young Harris College, where he played baseball from 1997 through 1999. After a transfer to West Georgia College, he graduated in 2001 with a degree in Sports Management. He returned to Young Harris College as an Assistant Baseball Coach. He moved to the Toombs County area in 2003 where he was employed by Brewton Parker for five years, three as Assistant Baseball Coach and two as Head Baseball Coach.

Mr. Brant came to Robert Toombs Christian Academy in 2008. During the years since he arrived he has served many roles. At different times, he has been an Assistant Football Coach, Head Softball Coach, Head Baseball Coach, Wrestling Coach, and Assistant Basketball Coach. As Head Baseball Coach, his teams have played in the State Championship in 2011, as well as winning four region championships and playing several final four and elite eight’s.

In 2012, he added administration duties as he was named Athletic Director and Assistant Headmaster. He stepped away from his coaching duties in 2015 to focus on Administration and was named Headmaster in spring of 2015. During the spring of 2017, he returned to his role as Assistant Headmaster and Athletic Director and will be the 2018-19 Head Softball and Baseball coach.

In addition to his roles at R.T.C.A., he has been an instrumental force in the GISA Athletics field. He served as the President of the GISA Coaches Association from 2012 through 2016. He has also served on the Athletic Committee of the GISA as well as the Region 2AA Secretary since 2013. Locally, he was a member of the 2014 Toombs-Montgomery Leadership class. He is also a member of the Lyons Lions Club and Kiwanis Club (began serving on the board in 2017).

Mr. Brant has two children, Trey (‘21) and Campbell (‘24), and is an active member of the Connection Church in Vidalia.


Director of Academic Affairs
Tracey Adams

Tracey Adams serves as the Director of Academic Affairs.  In this role, Mrs. Adams oversees curriculum, academics, guidance, college and career planning, dual enrollment, scheduling, accommodations for varying learning differences, as well as community service.  Mrs. Adams worked for 14 years at Southeastern Technical College, where her most recent position was the Vice President for Institutional Advancement.  She was also a member of the Student Affairs team and the Executive Council of the College, as well as the SACS accreditation team.  Mrs. Adams secured a literacy grant for Southeastern Tech and the program was instrumental in reaching under served populations.  Prior to coming to R.T.C.A., Mrs. Adams worked with the George Washington University High School, an online program, where she served as an Academic Planner.  Her main duties included course planning and curriculum pacing and helping students navigate the college admission process based on their strengths.

Mrs. Adams has been a speaker at multiple conferences where she has presented on advancing your school, learning differences, dyslexia, project based learning, and school and community partnerships. She won numerous state and national awards in regards to recruitment while working at Southeastern Technical College.  Mrs. Adams also brought the “Rethinking Dyslexia” program to the Toombs County area.  She has met with countless teachers and parents on reading struggles and advocating for children in the classroom.

Mrs. Adams is a native of Vidalia, Georgia.  Tracey and her husband Craig, also of Vidalia, have four children who attend R.T.C.A.  She graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Public Relations and a minor in French, which included a concentration with Duke University.  Tracey also has a Masters in Administration from Georgia Southern University.  Tracey and her family attend Lyons First United Methodist Church.


Director of Human Resources and Accounting
Lindsey Moore

Lindsey Moore serves as the Director of Human Resources and Accounting.  In this position, Mrs. Moore handles all invoicing, bank reconciliation, payroll and all personnel files. This is Mrs. Moore’s 7th year at R.T.C.A.  Before working at R.T.C.A., she was employed by Darby Bank and Trust for nine years.  During her time at Darby Bank, Mrs. Moore worked in operations, focusing on electronic banking services.

Mrs. Moore graduated from Georgia Southern University in 2000 with her BBA with emphasis in Finance.  She is married to Adam Moore, an alumnus of R.T.C.A. They have two children who attend R.T.C.A.; Savannah is in 6th grade and Anderson is in 4th grade. Mrs. Moore and her family attend The Oaks Baptist Church in Lyons, GA.

Mrs. Moore enjoys being a part of R.T.C.A. due to the family atmosphere.  She believes that R.T.C.A. has a rich history in Lyons that will continue to grow.


Director of Admissions, Development and Public Relations
Nicole Dykes

Nicole Dykes serves as the Director of Admissions, Development and Public Relations. In this role, Mrs. Dykes oversees:  fundraising activities, alumni involvement, publications and printing of ads, manages the school website and social media networks and assist with admission for prospective families.

Prior to working at Robert Toombs Christian Academy, Mrs. Dykes worked for two Atlanta radio stations within Cumulus Broadcasting, KICKS 101.5 and News Radio 106.7. While there, she was the Assistant Marketing & Promotional Director coordinating on-air giveaways, the promotional street team, working with celebrity guests and concerts. Prior to Cumulus, Mrs. Dykes worked for the Atlanta Braves on the Tomahawk team during the 2015 season. As a member of Game Day Entertainment, the team spent every home game promoting crowd participation, performing in the pregame plaza, during the 7th inning stretch and many in-game activities. The Tomahawk team also accompanied players on Caravans across the Southeast, visiting hospitals, schools, and sports stores.

Mrs. Dykes graduated from R.T.C.A. in 2008.  After graduation, she attended Kennesaw State University where she earned a BS in Communication and Public Relations. Mrs. Dykes and her husband, Chris, have one daughter, Everly, and attend Connection Church of Vidalia.
