Robert Toombs Christian Academy held its 2017 Varsity Fall Sports Awards on Thursday, December 7, at Southeastern Technical College. Athletes who participated in Shotgun, Softball, Football Spirit Cheerleading and Football were recognized. Senior Heath DeFee received the Top Shooter award followed by Senior KD Frost who received the 2nd Highest Overall Shooter award for shotgun.

For softball, Junior Kayla Blackshear received Best Offensive Player and Senior Ansley Spivey received Best Defensive Player and 8th Grader Bailey Holland received the Cy Young Award. Seniors Cassie Heath, Hannah Coursey and Zoey Thomas received the Senior Award.

For Cheerleading, Seniors Sadie Moser and Anna McComas received Most Improved, Senior Addison Wingate received the School Spirit Award, Sophomore Samantha Threlkeld received the Coaches Award, Junior Payton Nance received the Most Valuable Cheerleader Award and Junior Hannah Herndon received the Leadership Award. Junior Payton Nance was selected by the National Cheerleading Association as an All-American to perform during halftime of the Citrus Bowl on January 1st.

For Football, Seniors Sterling Damron, Brandon Mainer and Jackson Jones received the Region 2AA-Second Team award. Athletes who received Region 2-AA All Region were Seniors Tom Waller, Wil Duvall, Jalin Harris, Tye Lewis, Torrey Patterson, Zack Pendergrass, AJ Stewart, Junior Blaine Miller and Sophomore Fernando Zayas. All State was awarded to Seniors Tom Waller, Wil Duvall, Jalin Harris and Torrey Patterson. Seniors Wil Duvall, Zack Pendergrass, Jalin Harris, Brandon Mainer, Torrey Patterson, Jackson Jones, Tom Waller, AJ Stewart, Sterling Damron and Tye Lewis were also awarded the Senior Award for their outstanding leadership and commitment to the team.
